Father’s Day Weekend Surprise

Wow, what a weekend!! Chels and her cousins pulled off the ultimate and much-needed surprise. Jessica (Bobby’s daughter), Vanessa (Raleigh’s daughter), and Marsha (Dennis’s daughter) flew in late Friday night to surprise Bobby, Raleigh, Dennis, and Sandy at breakfast on Saturday morning. The crew knew Marsh was coming in, but they didn’t have any clue Jess & Vanessa were joining too, including Dennis.

The surprise was pulled off perfectly. Chels pretended she wanted to start “interviewing” Marsh at breakfast, which was really just a way to get the camera rolling for when Jess & Vanessa walked up. Everyone was completely surprised by our two extra visitors and there were lots of joyful tears.

After breakfast, the “girls” got to see the crew in full swing. They watched their dad’s get ready for the day by pumping the tires, making sure there was enough space in the car, and hitting the road. Marsh was a trooper and biked with the boys all day while Jess and Vanessa took turns during the SAG car (and Chels relaxed in the back). The boys have had just a few flats over the weekend, bringing the count to Dennis: 8; Bobby 6; Raleigh 3. We had an easy day of 50 miles and then hit the hotel’s indoor hot tub, pool, and slide.  We had a great dinner at The Fireside and then said goodnight while the Jess, Marsh, Chels, and Vanessa stayed up hanging out a little longer.

Father’s Day morning started off with Dennis showing the girls how he famously packs the car and then we all had breakfast together before hitting the road. For Father’s Day, Jess gave the brothers Moss Pieratt Foundation jerseys that they wore with great pride. It was very hard for everyone to leave each other and say goodbye. To have them join in on the experience, see firsthand our groundhog routine, and cheer the boys on was incredible and a weekend we will never forget. Thank you, everyone, who helped pull off this amazing and much-needed surprise!

We are officially over half way on days and miles, with the boys riding 81 miles on Father’s Day. We ended the day in St. Cloud and were exhausted from the fun-filled and exciting weekend. We will end our day in Stillwater tonight before going to Minneapolis in the morning for our 2-days of R&R!
