Dennis Jenkins
I am looking forward to the challenge of this cross country ride! I feel blessed that I have a wife and a business that will allow me to be gone for 2 months and I feel honored to ride alongside my two brothers. The charities that we are supporting are near and dear to my heart and very personal in nature to both of my brothers. I hope that we will reach our goal of raising $500,000 to support those causes. Please pray for our safety and for the strength to finish and to reach our goals.
Dennis was born in San Antonio, Texas on December 25, 1962 to Robert W. and Sandra P. Jenkins. He has two brothers, Bobby and Raleigh.
Dennis graduated Roosevelt High School in 1981, married his wife Jennifer in 1983, and graduated from Texas A&M University in 1985 with a Degree in Entomology.
Upon graduation, Dennis and Jennifer returned to San Antonio and Dennis went to work at ABC in San Antonio for his father. In 1987, Dennis’ father sold the family pest control business to Waste Management and Dennis went to work with Waste in Nashville, TN.
In 1989, Dennis resigned from Waste Management and left Nashville to move to Dallas to start an ABC office. Dennis’ father, Robert Jenkins Sr. knew that his three sons would work best by each having their own territory and keeping the ownership separate. Since that time ABC DFW has grown to over 135 employees. ABC is the largest independent pest control company in the DFW Metroplex, and is currently listed 54th by Pest Control Technology Magazine.
In 2008, Dennis and his team came up with the concept of “Anteater Advocates” which is an internal service organization that gives employees the opportunity to volunteer and serve others. In addition to monthly service volunteer opportunities at food pantries, this program also provides monthly pest control service to over 100 organizations in the DFW Metroplex and surrounding areas. Currently, those services have an annual value of $170,000. We feel that providing our services at no cost allows the charitable organization to take money that was already earmarked for an expense and use it instead to provide the services to those in need. The motto for Anteater Advocates is “Caring for those who care for others”. We are actively trying to grow our list as we are blessed by our growing company.
Dennis has 2 children, Marsha (29) and Russell (23). Both are happily married – but no grandkids – YET.
